how to change the general greeting

I have nortel bcm

I try feature 983 but it is invalid feature.

I have turn off the system for about 5 minutes and turn it back on but still show up as invalid feature

if I do a feature 9*1 it not a feature that shows up and I need to change the general voice mail box greeting the one that states welcome to xxy inc


please help
 
You most likely have a BCM 400 that is 3.7 or lower. You can not do voicemail admin through the phone on those versions. You have to use the manager from a computer.

bcm configuration seems to hung it say in progress...

It been do that for over 10 minutes
 
You could also try just opening up you web browser and type in the address bar. Just type http followed by your systems ip address then a /callpilotmanger. Press enter, and that may get you into the callpilotmanager part. That is where you would change your AA greeting. It sounds as though you are in a little over head, I would suggest calling a vendor.

The call pilot is not hung the bcm configuartion is hung


any suggest other then call my vendor since they charge $150 per hour trying save money
 
Call a vendor and spend the money.
If we dont spend we will sit in this recession forever.

Get them to train you as well as do it for you, then you can save some money in future.

I already gave you a couple of answers. I gave you a way around the BCM manager since it is hung. I gave you another way just to reach the callpilot manager which is seperate. You have to go into the callpilot manager part to do what you want. That is where you will find the AA greeting. Just follow the instructions. Your last couple replies proves you are over your head. Oh and by the way the reason why the manager is hung is because you either need to upgrade your JAVA or downgrade it on that computer. Call your vendor.

I do not understand why people are so quick to call vendors

To me that is a waste of money but if anyone else has answer great other please do not respond call vendor

Well just so you know it takes a tech a week of training to learn the system and still learns as the years go by.

It takes a tech about 2-4 hours to train an onsite administrator how to change the greetings and administer the sets etc.

So lets think how long its going to take to train people in a forum when it it's purpose is to help resolve issues.


You need to learn the login method, IP address, passwords, navigation and more.

You have posted in Norstar forum also.
There I suggested you call a vendor too but I also suggested you read the manual.....have you done that yet?

It's one thing to ask for assitance but another to train on forums.

Tying to save you grief when $150 from a business is peanuts when it's your main vain for conducting business.

All of us here know the answer but I am sure that most will take the same postition as I do and that is we do not train on the forums or post passwords.

OMG! I know how to get into call pilot. I need to change the aa (fact getting into call pilot easy and that is not hung)

I do not now how to change aa I go there there is a dialup button a record button so on but need the rest of the steps


FYI: everything I learn on phone system has been with this site ...I believe someone here can give me step 1 to step x and it will work

All the vendor person going to do is the same steps someone who knows how to do it from this forum (if no-one knows the answer then ok but I believe some one must know it)
