How to change the font size of half the text in a cell formatted for time and date? 2

i currently have a cell that is formatted as time and date as follows:


[$-4409]h:mm AM/PM - mmm dd;@

example >>> 2:30 PM - Sept 08

What I would like to do is to only change the font size of the date "Sept 8" but NOT the time.

Also, is it possible to change the color of the "date" only?

Yes, it's possible - by selecting the date and directly formatting it with the attributes you require. You can't do this kind of this through cell formatting.

Thanks Macropod, but can you give me an example using the time and date indicated above.

All of the text in my report (spreadsheet) is set at a 12 font.

I want the Date "only" to be a 10 font and if possible i want the color of the DATE ONLY to be blue.

Select the 'date' portion of the string (which will have to be a string, not a formatted time & date value), then apply the desired formatting.

The simplest way might be to reference the date/time in TWO ADJACENT CELLS. Format the left cell with your time format. Format the right cell with your date format. Each cell's font can be formatted separately.

Skip - great suggestion which I will most likely use if I can not find another option. This would require more work on my part becuase I would need to change the column setting and cells within my spreadsheet, But this would only be a one time task becuase from that point forward the spreadsheet would be set to pull the data and display it in the correct format.

Macropod - I am aware of your suggested option, but it will not work in my case because I am pulling this information from another excel spreadsheet which is NOT formatted the way I need it.

Is there any other solution? (Not VBA)

Put these two cells on a separate sheet.

Use the CAMERA Feature (Camera Icon in Ribbon) to place a picture of these two cell ANYWHERE YOU LIKE and ANY SIZE YOU LIKE on your sheet.
