I have a gif file that is part of banner for a website. It is a small gif file with two colors blue and the writing which is in white. The writing on the gif file simply says "Home Page". How can I change the colour of the gif file to say another color i.e. red without any alteration to the gif file?

I need to do this to a few gif files so any suggestion will be helpful????

You're going to have to alter the .gif file in photoshop or something of the like.

i don't believe that is possible. I would add a javascript code to the banner so it loads different banners with different color .gif's or maybe a mouse over event that would change the banner's .gif

netherbeast's solution is the only one

Yep you will need to create an instance of each gif in every colour that is required then use js to decide what image to load

If any one can tweak it to my specification, I would appreciate it immensely as I need to produce a few of these graphic files. Here is the file:

faithtest2_24.gif

I would like to change the colour of the blue colour to red (red, green, blue: 237 ,32, 36)

I have attempted to do this but with no luck. Thank you in advance.

Sorry I forgot to include the other five graphic files, here they are:

1)
faithtest2_25.gif

2)
faithtest2_16.gif

3)
faithtest2_18.gif

4)
faithtest2_19.gif

5)
faithtest2_20.gif

If you you show me how it is done I would appreciate it.
Thank you in advance

Lebisol could you please explain to me the approach you took to do this? A few lines of explanation will more than sufficient. Thank you in advance.

I think I tend to take the wrong approach to graphic work. It is because I don't have much experience with graphical software like Adobe Photoshop. I have experience of programming and normally for graphic work I tend to simply use a scanner for a lot of my work or use the proprietor software own resources and templates.

Hi sidalam!
This was actually a process of recreation rather than "filling in" the colors. Entire process was done in Adobe PS....(hey FW lowers let us hear you now :) try to compare PS with FW )
1st. - pasted all of the images you provided and allignem them
2. - used the same font (Arial 12 px) and type the words on the top (new layers) of the images u provided and alligned them the same
3. flattened all the images I coppied from you into one (background) and then "erased"=colored the words with the same color as the background maintaining a "blue shape". then I slected color blue(notice no more words so selecting a shape was a lot easier then working arround the letters).
4. sliced images with the same W & H as the originals
5. Save for the Web...and choose your optimisation leveles ( 85% of the original)

If you would like rollovers, then all u have to do is reate another duplicte layer (eg of the words "contacts us") with a small change...eg color change or emboss effect or anything u like and rename your slice so when the image is exported is does not repleace the one use for the initial state of rollover.
All the best!
