How to Change SCU of an M3903 Set?

My I.T. Director has asked me to give each of our M3903 users their own Personal Speed Calling list and allow each user to manage their own list.

When I performed an LD 81 (REQ: LST, Cust: 0, Feat: SCC), I discovered that our vendor had created 399 Speed Call lists, but many of my analog and digital sets are sharing the same lists.

Through LD 20, I was able to give each of my analog sets their own list using LD 20 with ITEM: FTR SCU command; however, I am unable to change the 23 SCU XX on the M3903 sets.

Any suggestions?

I have no training and little knowledge. The knowledge I have comes from this Tek-tips site, and I am grateful for its many wonderful experts.

Thanks,

Brad

did you try to nul the key then put it or what you want back?

If you LST (List) in LD 81 look at TYPE SCL
These are lists already setup and being used any gaps in between are spare lists or created and have not been assigned.

If when you assign the SCC xxx (Controller/List Number) to that KEY X on the 3903's you get a SCH code it would mean you have to create the list first.

Those are created in LD 18

REQ NEW
TYPE SCL
LSNO (List Nr) Return to values, sizes etc

There are other settings that determine lists available but the above is an assumption these are already set

Cheers!!

Thanks for the two replies, but I think I did not explain my problem well enough so I will post a copy of partial screen captures that may more clearly illustrate my problem.

Problem: I am unable to change K23 to a unique Speed Call List.

*********************************************************

This is just one example of six M3903 Digital Sets sharing Speed Call List 0014. I have many other M3903s sharing Speed Call lists. I want to reassign all M3903s with shared Speed Call Lists to their own SCU, then I will configure K01 on each M3903 with SCC (+ its SCL) allowing each user to manage their own lists.

I tried to change K23 on several M3903s, but I get error messages. I even tried to null it with no success.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Brad

are you trying to change it to another SCU key? Is that list built in the system? What error do you get when you try to nul the key?

Thanks,

Buddy

Buddy,

Please forgive my inexperience with the Nortel CS1000e - I've had no training and little experience so I will try to explain.

My goal is to simply provide each of my M3903 users their own Personal Speed Call list that is managed by each user and avoid having any Personal Speed Call List shared by more than one user.

If I am correctly interpreting the previous LD 81 and LD 20 captures that I posted, the six listed TNs each show K23 to be assigned SCU 0014. To me, this means each of the six TNs share the same Speed Call List 0014. And, I believe if I assign K01 SCC 0014 to each of the six TNs, then I will have six different users making changes to the same Speed Call List 0014 resulting in chaos.

I'm trying to change the K23 SCU entry on any M3903 that shares a list to an unused list so every M3903 user will have access to and control of their own Personal Speed Call List.

Thanks,

Brad

My thanks to each of you who responded.

Raj, your following suggestion solved the problem:

LD 20
Item: Key 23 SCU XX

I entered an unused SLT for each phone then returned to each M3903 TN and added:

LD 20
Item: Key 03 SCC XX

This completed my goal of having each M3903 assigned its own Person Speed Calling List along with the ability to self manage the list.

Thanks Again to all of your help.

Brad
