Dear friends,

I am using redhat 7.2 and rp-pppoe 3.3 and my connection speed was very slow like a 56k modem. It was found that pppoe/adsl nic need to be configured as 10M half-duplex mode. But I am wondering I was using 100M full-dulpex now. How can I change the speed and dulpex mode without any penic? Since I am a linux newbie... :p My nic is 3com 3c905c.

Thanks!

Hi,.

In case you don't know the parameter its 10baseT-HD (10mb half-duplex) - i.e. :

# /sbin/mii-tool -F 10baseT-HD

Regards

I already used mii-tool in Linux redhat 7.1 and the ethernet card is 3com 3c598 10base-t.
# mii-tool -w eth0
The error message :
SIOCGMIIPHY on 'eth0' failed : operation not supported.
Which ethernet card can I use this command ?
After I set the ethernet port speed using mii-tool.
If I restarted the server. The setting will be still there.
Or I need to set again.
Please advice
Thanks
