How to change Name for existing Extension

Hi Guys,

I m new to this phone system, can anyone help me how to change the name for existing extension, through the phone system.

What's the model and sw level of your system? Are you using voice mail?

what type of system, do you have programing auth? if so you need to have a programing set, (since we are in Norstar area) you need a 7310, 7324, or 7316.

the name programing on set is differant from voice mail.

If you're just changing the display name of the extension, on older series (308, 616, 824) it is under "Names" in the ADMIN programming. On the CICS/MICS series, it is under "Terminals&Sets" under CONFIG programming. You must have authorization to get into these areas of programming and you must be at a M7310/M7324/T7316 console to access programming.

On the 3x8,6x16,& 8x24 you can do programming with a M7208, but you better have an overlay the first few times. Always good to have M7310 on your truck.

You can only use an M7208, if there are no M7310/M7324's plugged in.
