Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to change the information displayed in an email header? Specifically, I wish to supress the server name and IP address on outgoing emails from my exchange server.
Grateful for any ideas here...

If you don't mind, what is the purpose of that? A 'regular' user does not see that anyway!

If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, expect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

Although not a security hole, it can give potential hackers info i.e. server name/address which I would rather not provide if it can be avoided.

Sorry to disappoint you, but a hacker hardly spends his time analysing an emailheader.
They use several scantools to scan a whole range of IP addresses and ports, if they find your server, they can try to attack.
You should have a firewall and masquarade your IP, disable replies to pings (ICMP packets), that is a much much safer approach.
Besides, do you email hackers? Don't think so.
But if they have your domainname (easily checked at internic or so), they can check your MX record if you have one, and here again they have your IP address.
