Hello,
I have an installed system (Magix) with 2 DLCs. I have tried everything I can think of to change them from DLCs to QCCs and it's just not working for me! Can anyone help? I know how to add and remove consoles and the whole "enter" then "save" and the system restarting. My hang up is that a Magix cannot be without a console. So, when I try to remove/change (anything!) with the console that is in logical ID 1, the system just won't stand for it. Please tell me, what am I doing wrong?
I know it's short notice, but I'm supposed to try making this change again tomorrow night(Tuesday 1/16). Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you.

OK, I first must ask, WHY IN THE WORLD DO YOU THINK YOU NEED A QCC.

In all of my years of experience with this system, (Starting in 1990) INCLUDING THE TIME I WAS A TIER 3 TECH SUPPORT ENGINEER with AT&T, Lucent & Avaya, I have only seen a real need for a QCC in only 3 or 4 occasions.

Setting up a QCC really fouls things up.

So, again I ask, why do you think you need to open this can of worms?

The customer has a PRI with DID and 2 console positions. If position 1 isn't available (position busy) they want calls to cover to position 2. If no one is available, they want the calls to overflow to an AA (Intuity).
I personally don't like QCC either, but thought this would be a good application.

I do not believe it would be the best way.

If you have D-I-D's with PRI, then you will not have all of the lines on the console. Thus, no need for QCC.

If you just want to cover Console A with Console B, then just put a Cover Button on Console B for Console A.

I have more than one client with PRI/D-I-D with this arrangement, and it works quite well.

Then, of course, if neither A or B answer, the call can go to VM coverage.

You may have to sacrifice Console A's PRIVATE Voice Mail, but there's a way around that.
