I have a text full of personal names, but they are all in UPPERCASE. How to change all of them to normal name format: first letter uppercase, other smallcase -> for example KRUNO to Kruno, or JANE to Jane...

I know that it can be done with find & replace, but I just can not find the way...

Please help!

It's under Type>Change Case>Title Case

You can assign a shortcut for it under

Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts

Product Area:
Type Menu

Change Case:Title Case

What I ment was how to do it automatically! There are few hundred terms that i have to change...

How are they styled?

under your charactor pallet click on the little arrow thingy so the flyout menu appears.
Is there a little tick next to All Caps?

Or has someone typed JANE with the capslock on, instead of jane then click on all caps?

Depends on the way it's formatted I suppose. Are they character styles? Does it have a certain character before it?

Perhaps a screenshot or something would be useful so. I'm pretty sure it can be done, depending of course on how it is setup.

It is typed with a "capslock" or just "shift"... no nested styles or "all caps" were used... plain text imported from Word

Dear Kruno2003,

What a nightmare, has all the text been typed with caplocks or shift or just the names?

I am sorry to say but I dont think there is an easy way of doing this. If one individuals name is repeated several times throughout the document it would be quicker to use the "control" "F" function to find and replace that individuals name. But if it is hundereds of pages with different names then I think you are going to have to go through it using the titlecase function as the first responder suggested simply because the document will not know which is names and which is not.

select the text and uncheck the double TT in teh character box.
