How to call a EXE from ASP?

I too would like to knowif I can execute applications locally thru ASP. Currently I am having asp write a batch file to execute then redirect to download the batch file. But users have to select Run from Current location. Would like to launch applications right from ASP page passing parameters to aaplication.
