I would like to know how to calculate mode in Cognos.
There are direct functions to calculate mean and median but not mode.

Date Value
11/12 11.55
11/12 11.45
11/12 11.45
11/12 11.43
11/12 11.56
11/12 11.89
11/12 11.78
11/12 11.55
11/12 11.55

The mode (most frequently occuring value)= 11.55

How to derive a formula for this..in cognos. Please help

This may not be a great answer, but it's the best I could come up with for the moment. On another forum someone suggested the following:

maximum(count(<exp>))

I tested that and to get it to work changed it to:

maximum(running-count([expression] for [expression])

This will create a column that will show you which item is repeated the most.

So for your example I think it would be maximum(running-count([Value] for [date]))
