Hi,

As you all know we can send and receive files through yahoo and msn messengers. Can we block this through ISA. As even though the ftp and http downloads and uploads are blocked still we can upload and download files through these 2 messenges which we can never trace.

thanks in advance.

regards,
dblaine

Either block instant messenger software with rules or you'll have to buy something like Akonix L7 Enterprise for ISA Server to stop/take control over it.

Hi dblaine,
Can you tell me please how did you block the http downloads
and uploads on isa server.

Thank you so much

If MSN Filetransfer (with MSN Messenger > version 5) is only possible if you have opened the ports
[ul][li]6891-6900 TCP Outbound, and/or[/li]
[li]6891-6900 TCP Inbound[/ul][/li]

Cheers
Knut Erik

Hi ashcool,
Just applied a rule which denies to the required users all the http content.

In the http content you can select the required protocols and required downloads also.

dbaline

May be i misunderstood this, but if you block all the HTTP content, isn't normal web-page viewing being denied too?
