Hi,

Does anyone got a clue on how to block Kazaa, eDonkey and so on with a regular hardware firewall? I have Netgear Firewall 200 in place.
ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/fvx538_manual.pdf

But that's no Application firewall (correct me if I'm wrong). Is it possible to block those filesharing applications by port? Wouldn't they look for another port to use, if i block the once they occupie?

thanks for any hint.

Unfortunately not, these applications all use standard http. You need something signature based. there are lot of solutions out there, it depends how much you want to spend. Just search fot "block kazaa" in a search engine like google.
