Hello,

I have been asked to block a specific phone number from calling into our system. The documentation I've found is for older versions and only talks about blocking inbound calls if you have MGCP or H.323 but we have SIP and are running version 8.6.2. I'm thinking it might be done with translation patterns. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

It's done on the Gateway Router(s) using translation rules

Caveat: I've never done it using SIP trunks, nut only because we do not use SIP. In theory it's doable. The process is explained in the CVOICE course as well as in the available aftermarket documentation.

Also a good article on it here:

Thanks for all of your help. It is now working. Had to make new partitions, CSSs, and then translation patterns to match the numbers to block. Calls to be blocked are sent to a partition that can't go anywhere while all others are passed through.

Thanks John. I just figured that out myself today. Amazing what you can find by surfing the net :)
