Is there a way to program

911X to go to the reception
911 to 911

Dial delay count set to 4, but if you do that you cannot use the ; character in system shortcodes, only in ARS
But sounds like a very bad idea either way :)

Never use extensions that collide with emergency numbers, that's just bad practice.

Ran into this article a couple of month ago about 911 and PBX's
thought it was interesting

Texas Senate Bill 788 was signed into law in May of 2015 requiring direct dial access of 9-1-1 from all multi-line telephone systems

Here is the current link I found on this issue that appears to be across the US

Current 911 PS/ALI Legislation
Twenty four states currently have E-911 legislation enacted or pending that requires organizations over a certain size or purchasing a new PBX to implement E911 for the safety of their employees, students, and visitors. On December 3rd, 2015 the" Kari's Law Act of 2015" affecting E911 for MLTS was introduced in the House of Representatives.

ACSS SME

Had this issue a few years ago where we had a rash of accidental 911 calls;changed my SC from 9N to 8N and the problem is now non-existent. Programmed 911 or 8911 to go out to emergency. If your users accidentally dial 911 and hang up, have them call back and tell the 911 operator it was a mistake or you will have the cops showing up at your premises.

That should make the po po more suspicious if they've ever been trained in the lsat 50 years.
Tried that, they came in the back way with guns out. Last time i went back to that customer.
They'll still roll if they're gonna.

GB let me give you a star as well because I use that for all installs and change it even on existing customers to avoid the hassle of accidental 911 calls.

thanks for that, so simple yet so effective

I take the 911 numbers out of ARS and add a 911 shortcode feature dial emergency number 911.

then you don't hear a secondary dialtone any more if your dialout code is 9 and that confuses people

easiest way is just to change ars code from 9 to 8 as stated earlier, assuming they use ars to dial out
