Press the keytabs WIN + [R] simultaneously.
In the appearing run field, enter the following command line.

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Should work with copy'n'paste also. After pressing ENTER you'll get an error message you can ignore.

thank for the tips, BigJohnD.

I tried it, it is removing messenger; fine , but after I can reinstall again Messenger ( msn / yahoo), is there a way to block the INSTALLATION process of a program ?

What do you think if i try to include your command in autoexec.bat ?

Or is MESSENGER using a specific port, than i can restricted it trough firewall some way ?

BigJohnD-
One question. I tried your link. What do you think about this...

When I right click on "Messenger" as per the directions, I get a description on the left. Part of this description says "This service is not related to Windows Messenger."

The directions on the site/link are all about disabling Windows Messenger. What am I not understanding?

Thanks.
Nick

Hi, Nick,

Although the name of the service is similar, Messenger Service in Windows XP is not related to instant messaging programs such as Windows Messenger and MSN Messenger.

Disabling instant messaging programs will not prevent Messenger Service spam on your computer.

Now I see. Thank you for clarifying the difference.

Thank you.

Nick.
