Can anyone help me on how to backup Remote Linux Servers Using Veritas Backup Exec 10.0?

What do I need to install? What's the process?

Many thanks,

Omar E. Regular

What Linux OS will you be backing up and do you know if you license for the Backup Exec RALUS Unix agent?

The Linux OS is Cent OS (Variant of Red Hat 4).

We have a license for the Backup Exec RALUS Unix agent.

Well you can attempt to install RALUS agent but that OS is not supported with the RALUS agent or legacy agent in any version of Backup Exec. Best effort at this point.

Frist I would upgrade to 10.1 this is free. 10.1 and RALUS support a wider range of Redhad flavors. So you may be able to get away with it but understand you wont have support for backup and restore from symantec.

RALUS agent is faster and more robust

Ralus agent install for 10.1

Legacy Agent

The links above are for 10.1 agent. I would event waste time trying this in 10.0
