I have to backup a Server with the retention time of 6 Months.
But 1 Directory "/data/samba/soxtests" has a retention time of 2 Years.
How can i make that?
I made 2 Groups and 2 Clients.
The First Client backup everything and the second client backuped only the special Directory.

BUT now i backup the Special Directory twice.
How can i say in the first client not to backup the special Directory?
The problem is in der samba Directory they make daily new Directorys and delete the old ones. So to writh every Directory in samba to the client is not posible. i have to exlude the soxtest directory.

I use Legato 7.2

Thanks for your help.

The easiest way is to have 2 client configurations with different browse and retention policies for different save sets. Be aware that the save sets must not overlap.

However, in your case you must define the client resources as follows:

client abc
save set /data
directive exclude /data/samba/soxtests
BP
RP
....

with the directive "exclude /data/samba/soxtests" containing

<< /data/samba/soxtests >>

+skip: .

----------------------

client abc
save set /data/samba/soxtests
directive
BP
RP
....

Good luck.
