My server that control time in the network is 4 minutes behind the correct time.

How should I adjust it to correct time ?

I have tried using monitor and the TIMESYNC TIME ADJUSTMENT field entering +00:04:00 but time will not change.

I have also tried this at system console:
set timesync time adjustment = +00:04:00

But this gives me an error like this:
timesync time adjustment is set to: FORMAT ERROR: No adjustment scheduled.

What is the correct procedure and/or syntax to adjust time ?

The server is NW 5.1 SP5 and is a SINGLE time server.

if you have multiple servers, your Primary time source server should really be set as a PRIMARY server, then the other servers are set as SECNDARY servers and point to the PRIMARY.

Anyway, to setthe time properly, just type the following at the console:

SET TIME = 11:22:33

where 11 is hours, 22 is minutes and 33 is seconds. If you get a confirmation message, answer Yes

You should also use an external time source to keep accurate time. Computer clocks do not keep correct time. Why they can't figure that out I don't know.
You set the Primary server to go and get the time from one of the time servers out there and your other servers to get there time from the primary.

Thanx !
The set time = command solved my problem.

Is it possible to disable timesync in Netware 4.11.
The server is not networked. I inherited it 5 years ago, and it is only up because a few people love Groupwise and not Outlook.

I am in the process of migrating everything, and this timesync is a thorn in my side with my Groupwise users computers.

Thanks for your Help!

Even if you can it is very important to have a good time reference. The file system relies on when and who makes changes. It is less important if you only have one server, bit you should still get it working. This server hjas groupware? Then it has internet access correct? Then it is very easy to use a time reference from out in the world to keep it up to date.
Go here and get some info: It has links to public time servers you can use.

One way of "disabling" timesync is to get the server to timesync with itself. Just change the TIMESYNC.CFG file to point to itself for timesync. A bodge this is, but it may resolve your issue with your 4.11 server

"I have also tried this at system console:
set timesync time adjustment = +00:04:00"

The correct format is:

set timesync time adjustment=+00:04:00

remove the spaces after the last letter in the word adjustment. The adjustment will occur 1 hour after the command is issued
