I just upgraded to A64. A stupid question:

How can I adjust CPU speed? Cool'n'Quiet is heavily advertised. But I can't find any information about how to adjust the settings.

thanks!

What exactly are you trying to adjust it to? Away from the default speed, or to fix a problem you're having?

I have no problem to fix. But the monitor software always say it is running at the top speed. What algorithm does Windows use to determine what speed to run at?

Thanks!

It says I have to set the power setting to Minimal Power Management. When I change the setting, there is nothing new showing up.

Does it mean that I can't let the machine go into Standby with Cool'n'Quiet?

Thanks!

You have to install the drivers for the CPU to enable this feature. You should be able to get them from AMD's website.

I have this feature on my A64, and it idles at 1ghz, and will go to 2.4ghz upon a load.

Yeah, it is working now. thanks!

Just wondering why it is not a separate control. Why it is only available in one power setting?

Interesting though: if you modify Minimal Power Management and save it as something else, you will get C'n'Q under both schemes.
