The netkork settings are probably not the same on the new computer. The computer name and Aloha settings are definatyely not. Also the user name and password the terminal uses must be the same as what the other terminals are using. This will be tricky if the dealer that installed the system secured the password... For the moment we willm assume it came from the same dealer and may be the same already.

Look at the aloha.ini file on one of your working terminals. It will be in the Aloha folder. Note the TERMSTR value. (it is most likely TERM) Find the ID number of the terminal in Aloha Manager in [ maintenance, hardware, terminals ]. On the fileserver go to network setting and look at the properties of TCPIP and not the Ip address and subnet mask.

On the new computer go to network settings and set the IP address to be the same as the IP on the fileserver except for the last number. If you are not sure what that should be on the terminal set it to 66. (if fileserver is 10.10.10.1 set term to 10.10.10.66) Set the subnet mask to be identical to the fileserver. Set the computer name to be the TERMSTR value followed by the Aloha ID number for that terminal with no space. (if TERMSTR is term and the terminal ID is 3 then the computer name will be term3) Reboot and check for connectivity with terminals and fileserver using explorer on the terminal. If you can see the terminals and fileserver go to bootdrv on one of the terminals and copy the aloha.ini from bootdrv\aloha and paste it to c:\aloha on the new terminal. Edit the aloha.ini file you just pasted and change the term= value to be the same as the terminal ID for this terminal. Change master capable and server capable to be false for good measure. (you would only want to have those as true if you reinstalled Aloha on the terminal) Reboot and good luck.

ALOHA on Posiflex TP6000

Hello folks,

After browsing these forums for the better part of the day I have yet to find a solution.

I recently got my hands on a Older Posiflex TP6000 with
WIN98 Second Edition,

I have am having an extremely difficult time getting Aolha to operate on this terminal....

I have all my TCP/IP Setting to recognize this to be pos3 out of 3 (pos1 and pos2 respectively are the other names)and I can see it on my BOH server.. I just am having problems getting aloha loaded onto the new terminal.

I dont know if I am missing a small step or what... I have done everything I can think of, even a direct copy of Aloha from pos1 to pos3 (and changing pos1 to pos3 in Ibercfg.bat)

Any Help will be greatly appreciated...

Thank You

-Mania
