how to add more tape drives in NetBackup

I just zoned up two more LTO3 tape drives and all media servers and the master server can see the 2 new tapes (5 tape drives total). What needs to be done to get NetBackup to start seeing and using all 5 tape drives? I looked on the master server in NetBackup under Devices and it still only sees the 3 original tape drives.

Hi,

You can either from the Netbackup master server menu run configure Storage devices or in Devices click the New Storage device icon on the top.

YOu will need to reload the drivers for the drives then add them into your storage device configuration.

thx folks. I got it all going now. Just gotta get the guts up to decommission our old media server

When you decommision the media server, make SURE you follow this article:

If you don't, you will have lots of problems and cause corruption/inconsistencies in your catalog.
