Hi

Hi
I added a new table to the sample database "northwind" and later I did something wrong and I had to reinstall SQL Server 7.0 again. But then my modified "northwind" was overwitten with the original sample database. I had copied the modified "northwind" in other directory. Now how do I add this to the SQL Server. When I try to just copy and paste I am denied. I tried renaming it and then pasted it in the subdirectory "data" but when I open Enterprise Manager I do not see it under databases tab. How do add an existing SQL database to the server?

Can somebody help me?

Thanks

Copy the backup file to the MSSQL7 > BACKUP folder. Start Enterprise Manager, select your server from the Sql Server Group.

To restore database, right click onto the Databases folder icon and choose All Tasks > Restore Database. Type in the name of your database, and choose to restore from device. Click on select devices, Add and the … box to browse. Select your database file and ok, ok again, and ok once more. Under the options tab, click onto “Force restore over existing database. Make sure that the Move to physical file name is listed as c:\whatever. Mine always comes up as d:\whatever.

Clck onto Ok and stand back.
