How to add 4-port card to Merlin Messaging system

I purchased a 4-port card from eBay for my Merlin Messaging System. How do I install the card and verify that everything is operational? Currently, I have no cards installed in the Messaging System. I believe it is a Magix Messaging system installed in a clamshell into my Merlin Legend system because it has the gray plastic insert inside a beige clamshell.

I'm a newbie with Merlin Legend and Magix, so please let me know if you need more information.

Put the card in the slot.

Program the 1st 4 extensions on the card into Calling Group 770, set it as circular (for now), and Integrated VMI.

Call 770 5 times in a row, observe the lights on the module, make sure that each port answers.

BTW, your Legend must be R7

Do I need to power down the system first? It looks like there are two card slots, which one should I insert the card into?

I'm new to this, can you give me a step by step on how to program?

I'll answer the first part....It would be a good idea to power down the system before installing the port license. It is good practice to back-up programming before making any changes to it.
