Hi everybody. We are going to install our first Branch Office CS1000B, I have some questions:

- Have both Main and Branch cores to be set with the same Node Id?
- Could I have both systems into the same subnet? For example Main's Node IP=192.168.1.100/24 and Branch's Node IP=192.168.1.200/24. This point is very important for as, because at this time we only have layer 2 switchs in both sites joined by an optical fiber.

I hope that you guys could help me with my doubts

Thanks!

You will have to have a separate Node ID for each site, however you will want to use Relaxed Node config for your phones meaning you want to configure your Nodes as 1000 and 1001 and then set your phones to node 100 ... this will allow the phones to register at 1000 or 10001 and if you add sites they can hit 1002, 1003, 1004 all the way up to 1009. This will certainly work as we have our Nodes as 4000 and 4001 and our phones set to 400.

I think you can have the systems in the same subnet but be cautious that you are separating and restricting other traffic to the ELANs and make sure you have enough IPs in your scope for your phones. Haven't tried it, but I suppose in theory it could work.
Good luck!

Ok TMAN45 thanks for your lines. I will try that next week. Then I am going to write how my Brach kept programed.
