How Reduce dial time across T1

I am using a T1 to Tie Nortel option 11c and Avaya IP500, I am have some amount of delay time in connecting calls from the Nortel Meridian to Avaya IP500 system, is it possible to reduce this to almost instant. The outgoing from the AVAYA is almost instant but from the Nortel coming in takes a little time.

Sounds like it could be a 'FLEN' Length not set correct in your SPN/LOC/CDP depending on what your dialling plan is ?

Agreed. FLEN Length played very important role in dial duration.
