A Client of mine was having a connection issue with a pc - either not connecting or running at 10Mbps

I finally got the in-house guy to show me the cable start and end points and then got him to admit there was a join !!!!

OK so far till I saw the join ..... Arghhhhhhhhhhh

Whoever did that should have all there tools taken away and not returned until they apologize to all telephone techs worldwide

Here is what our network group think the closet should look like.

Mike's group did an excellent job cleaning up that telephone closet [thumbsup2]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

For the very first picture, I'm thinking a public flogging for whoever wired that mess would be appropriate.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

LOL!! That is epic.

mikeydidit, so you cleaned out the junk in the closet and added a few velcro straps. I don't see a change to the telco wiring and there is no lan left at all. Sorry if I don't understand.

The answer is "42"

The switch is up high on the left side. It's out of the picture.

It can be done. The thing to remember is to keep the twists as intact as much as possible. When punching the wires down to the pins, "tips" and "rings" will enter the block together. The tip will be fed up to the pin above while the ring is fed down to the pin below. I know my wording may be somewhat vague, but I'm not sure how to better explain it. [sad]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
