Just trying to confirm how many wires a 5420/5410 digital phone uses or the DS ports in general on the IP Office. I have reviewed the installation manual etc..and can't find it for sure.

I'm fairly certain it's the normal 2-wire/ 1-pair but just want to confirm.

I need to put about 30 DS phones in a office on another floor in a building an need to figure out how many pairs of copper I'm gonna have to run up. I'm thinking a few cat3 cables and a 25pair should do it but just want to be sure they are not some wired 4-wire phones.

Thanks.

ps. I deleted the rest of my rant but perhaps vtphilk, rather than just starting threads (7 in the few months) maybe you could reply (0 replies so far) to some of the answers you have been given to say whether they have helped. a) Its polite b) For others reading the thread it validates whether the answers given are correct or not.

Sizbut,

Since your checking up on me you might not want to rely on the stats by clicking on my username. I have replied to many of my threads and other examples. For example, when I click My Replies I should 7 threads that I have replied to so don't know why my stats say 0 replies when you click the user...

PS> I do reply to other threads etc...but sorry if I'm not going back and saying it worked. I will go back and double check all the threads I started I get a status update.

PS. PS....Thanks for the info..that is what I needed.

vtphilk, please accept my apology. The stats clearly read in your favour (7 vs 19) so either I was having a serious pre-caffine brain fade or the Tek-Tips server was having a wobble.
