You can use an announcement in as many vectors as you want. Where it makes a difference is how many simultaneous calls you have on the board with the announcement. A TN750C has 16 ports and a VAL board has 31. Keep in mind that other announcements on that board also take up resources. If you are expect that announcement to be heavily used you might want to devote a board just for it.
I have (1)TN750 with only 6 announcements on it that I set up for my first Meet-Me Conf. VDN. I have a feeling that once they know the Meet-Me Conf. is available every dept head will want one. It would'nt surprise me if I end up with 20 to 25 Meet-Me VDN. That prompted the questions about capacity..
You should be fine… Those announcements should be short and the odds of you having 16 simultaneous people listening to them at once is slim unless you have 3 conferences going on at once an everyone dials in at the same time…
FYI, I don’t know what Communications Manager Release you are on but in the new 2.0 you can have 12 people in a Meet-Me conference instead of six. If your company really likes it you might be able to get them to ok an upgrade to 2.0. You also get a log of Advocate features that are useful if you are running a call center.
How do I find out what release Communication Manager I have? I don't have a call center, I just wanted to use the Meet-Me feature which is part of our package. 12 people would be sweet !!
I'm running G3si V11 on 4 different switches in three states with DCS..
dmoore7648,
I'm currious about where you got the information about 12 people on a Meet-Me conference in CM2.0 because I am fairly certian that it remains at a maximum of 6 (unless you are talking about bridging two conferences through a trunk, which can cause voice quality/volume issues)
