How many user's can I have in Access???

I have a database that will have about 25 users. Is it possible to have that many user's in Access and if so should I split the database to help it run faster with that many users?????

Hi Brian:

Access lets you have 255 users. But I am told that performance begins to degrade seriously after 5 or so.

When you split the database, you get a "front end" (to install on the users' boxes) and a "back end" (only the tables) and it should be more efficient. The front end resides on each user's station, while the back end resides on a computer you use to serve the stations.

Best of all, I can install new versions of the "front end" which contains all the forms, modules, queries, everything other than tables, while not disturbing the "back end."

We've been using an access database with around 10 users and thats been fine, I guess it depends how concurrent users / updates etc there are... i've heard MySQL is supposed to be loads better than Access for the amount of users and all that?

10 simultaneous users is generally no trouble. However, Win 95, 98, NT and 2000 all limit you to 10 connections to your server, unless you buy more licenses.
