Is there a good way to tell how many people hear our MOH? We use avaya mp3 players that are wired in.

S8730, CM 5.1.2

how is the music programmed in CM?

We have 6 different mp3 players playing different mp3s through analog cards. Then we have the port on the analog card setup in "change music-sources.

How are you routing callers to the music source? Is it straight tennant partitioned hold, or are you using vector steps etc?

There are no reports or status commands that show historical or real time connections to music sources.

Yes it is tenant partitioned. I was afraid there was no way. Thanks guys.

Well,
Perhaps there is another way of looking at this. Tier 3 is (always!) right, but you can get stats on calls being held.
Working on the principle that to be able to hear the music, you must be on hold, how about looking at the question from another angle?

status trunk-group and status station will show connections to music ports in real-time if a trunk or station is listening to music and you catch it at that time.

There would be no way to break out calls held and users the have a COR that does not allow music on hold or has data privacy or data restriction that will also block music from being placed on the call.

Why do you want to know? If your read the descriptions that I mention above, music on hold is basically unlimited and if locally sourced, will prevent resources from being used up, blocking access to music, having distorted music played back to the caller.

It is necessary to read, so when you program it for your system, it works correctly. With tenant partitioning, you can have 100 different sources.

We aren't having any problems, my marketing people were wanting to get a good idea of how many people the MOH could be reaching. We change it every month and they want to know if their ads in the MOH are having any impact on our customers.

Nick44 has a good idea with the held calls. If you have CMS and can pull hold time reports and no body is restricted from hearing Music on Hold.

You may want to start another thread and inquire about the proper CMS report to extract the data that you are looking for.
