How many I2050s come free on the BCM 400 4.0 and on the BCM 50 Rel2? I know I still need an ip client keycode for each phone but can't seem to get a straight answer from anyone about this.

With the BCM50 1.0 the i2050 was downloadable from the BCM. When upgrading to BCM50 2.0 the new i2050 (version 2.x) is not included and must be purchased, though the old one can still be downloaded from the BCM as far as I know. I'm unclear on the 400 personally.

So on the BCM400 4.0 you must buy the software licenses none are free? The BCM 3.7 you could download and use 16 of them as long as you had ip client keycodes.

The BCM 400 4.0 still has the i2050 available for free download.

The BCM50 2.0 does not. BUT you can download the i2050 from a different BCM, then configure it for the BCM50 2.0 and it works fine.

My thought is that you could download the i2050 from a "friendly" machine to a USB stick and then use that for anyone who needs it.

The 4.0 shows the softphone on the web page, but if you read closely, it is the nortel part number to order it. I ordered mine for 27.00 from Dell. I installed in on 3 computers already. I think you just pay for the media, it is not locked down otherwise. But you obviously need an IP license for each one.
