after designing my table , i tried to save it. however, when i tried to save it i got the error message "Too many fields". i can't seem to find out the maxnumber of fields i am allowed, at the moment i have 179 fields in my table. can anyone help with this one?

faxof, Access limit is 255 fields in a table. However, Access stores an "internal" field count. When you make changes to a field, Access creates a new field (kind of behind the scenes) and the "internal" field count can increase. Try compacting the database. HTH, Montrose
