I been browsing the board for a little bit trying to find out an answer for a very simple question... Does anyone happen to know..... How many fields are allowed in a table in Access? Is it unlimited or is thier a cut off point.. If so what is that cut off point.....

Max number of fields in a table = 255 - number of index
BUT, have a look here:

Hope This Helps, PH.

Presumably, PHV, that is also the maximum for a recordset?

the "Field Count" of 255 does apply to recordsets ... BUT ...
Fields are counted as EACH REFERENCE to a field, so each occurance of a field in an index, join, conditional (where), group by ... counts as a field. the net result is that it takes careful counting to determine this "Count" and most of us just avoid the situation by not creating recordset which even approach the limit.
