Is it possible to have more than one D-Channel Per Loop. We are doing VOIP using Cisco equipment, but no D-Channels at this time. We want to use 4 B-Channels and 1 D-Channel then use another 4-B Channels using a different D-Channel. This may be possible in a ISL situation but I am not sure. This is in the UK using Option 11c 25.15. Thanks in advance.

Your question "more than one DCH per loop" is not clear. How you are using your VoIP? what cards you are using in M1?
If you are using ITG-Trunk card than you can use diffrent D-Channel by creating another ITG node in the same PABX.

This is using PRI Cards in Option 11. Most likely TMDI cards. We are trouble with BT trying to install ITG They do not want to use our ITG cards from the States.

I think that your question is can you use more than 1 T1 with a single DCH. The answer to that is yes using the SL1 or MCDN protocol. This is typically called NFAS. Currently the Q.Sig protocol does support NFAS, but I have seen no vendors, including Nortel, support it in their version of Q.Sig.

You CANNOT have more than one d channel per LOOP as in a t1 loop. You can control more than one loop with a d channel. The ITG card is no different. Only one d channel per ITG card or node. You cannot use 2 or more d channels with a single card reguardless of type.

You can also have a backup DCH to start whenever a primary DCH has went down. Maybe this is what you want.

There are three configurations for PRI's:

FAS: D-channel per T-1
NFAS No backup D-channel: Connecting to a DMS 100 up to 20 T-1 loops controlled by one D-channel (lose the loop with that D-channel, and your SOL.)
NFAS with backup D-channel: Up to 20 loops controlled by one d-channel, with one back up d-channel on a different loop.

Thing to keep in mind when configuring for NFAS is this, the loop with the primary d-channel has the ID of 0, the backup d-channel loop with be 1, and the first loop without a d-channel with be 2.

i.e. NFAS no backup will be numbered like this 0,2,3 etc..

option 81c to cisco 3640 integration for VOIP.
Does anybody like to share his working solution for integating option 81c and cisco 3640. I have read a lot on cisco web site, I have some of the posts on this issue but I am still not sure on some of the configuration on the nortel side. I have a dual PRI card and a separte D channel card. Any step by step will be gratly appreciated.
Thanks for your help
