I believe you can use up to (4) of the new 012 Partner ACS line mods with an ACS R5.0 processor if you only need 3 CO ports but lots of extensions. Kinda extreme config, but that was just to answer your "how many" question. Andrew Roach

Actually, wouldn't it be only 3 012E modules, since the procesor already had 8 stations of its own? That would bring the station count to 44. Using 4 012E's would bring you to 56 stations, which is over the 48 max.
More precisely ... while you can install (4) 012 ETR mods with an ACS R5.0 processor in a 5 slot carrier, you will only be able to use 48 extensions max in the ACS 5.0 configuration. The last 8 station ports on the 4th 012 mod in slot 5 will not be programmable or functioning. Andrew Roach

Actually, with the R5 CPU, station count goes to 56, so all extension ports are usable! The 012 will only work with an R5 or higher processor, so it all works out.
392,
TouchToneTommy is correct, int the release 5, even though with some configurations will permit more than 48 ports, any ETR, T/R or voice mail ports above 48 are out of the range of the ACS, and will not function properly.
