I'm the Domino/Notes administrator here, and someone just asked me a question that I can't answer. I'm still slightly new to Domino/Notes and I don't think anyone has ever asked this.

How long does mail last in your inbox/folders? Is there a setting in either the server or the client that determines how long mail has to "live" until it gets auto-deleted?

Thanks for any help!!

Messages in your In Box stay there until you delete or archive them. This is assuming that you don't have automatic archiving activated to archive messages older than x days.

Check the archive setting in the mail DB from the first tab on the properties box.

Hope this helps

Unless the user has an agent enabled in their mailbox that specifically performs deletions or archiving, a user's Notes mailbox will retain all mail sent indefinately.
