Hi,
we're about to get an Equallogic PS4000/6000 iSCSI SAN and I'm trying to figure out how storage presentation works.

If I create a LUN (5TB) and present it to Win2k8 server via the iSCSI initiator. Will the Windows server see the whole space or are there any limitations to the size ?

Do smaller LUNS have to concatenated within Windows to get a larger storage space ?

appreciate you assistance.

thanks for the reply.

So I can create a 5TB LUN and present it to a Win2k8 box via iSCSI initiator.

The article points to the concerns about rebuilding such large LUNs, chkdsk times and backup etc.

I would be looking at thin provisioning this LUN as well.

I will run this past the Dell techs as well to see what concerns they might have.

what type of data are you going to put onto the lun ? Because perhaps there is a better solution then 1 big lun
