Hello Everyone,

When I do a "list vdn" I see all our VDNs and the extensions associated with them. Most of the extensions I recognize the numbers as DNIS digits from our telco provider from our 800 numbers, but there are some other numbers I'm not sure how they're called. I know they are working because people are calling in on these extensions but I'm just not sure how. Does anyone know how I can find out how these other extensions are being called? Does it have to be a DNIS digit if the extension is listed in the VDNs screen?

Thanks!

No, it doesn't have to be a DNIS from a toll-free number. It could be a local DID number. Sometimes you will set up different VDN's for internal vs. extenal calls. They could also be for RONA calls. Look at your hunt groups to see if the VDNs are for your RONA calls, and use the command "list usa ext XXXX" to see if the VDN's are part of a vector (route to XXXX).

Once you've figured them all out, name the VDN so you know where it comes from. This way you won't go through this again next year.

Hi Susan, thanks for the information! When I do "list usa ext 8094" the extension only shows up on station buttons. I guess employees can quickly transfer to this extension which goes into a vector. This number isn't part of our DIDs so I'm thinking this is for internal use only. By the way, what does RONA mean?

Thanks for your help!

RONA is Redirect On No Answer. If your hunt groups are not set to auto-answer (none of mine are), then this is the VDN for calls that ring at an agent's desk but are not answered in X rings. I put these calls back to the same queue but at a higher priority level.
