hi all,
i am relatively new to netbackup and i have performed scheduled and manual backups but still cant figure out how to restore. i have worked with backup exec and the restore interface there is so straight foward... i was expecting such simplicity with netbackup too but no such luck and i havent been able to do a test restore.
i would appreciate a step by step guide to assist me.

cheers

Hi,
Open Gui
select backup/archive and restore on lhs
select restore tab

on top row on rhs that has NB server, source client, policy type, destination client......and a hand button.

select hand button....this allows you to
1 select server---normally ok
2select source client--type in name of client--press add ---and don't forget to "make current"
3 select dest client as above
policy is normally ok

next row down
backup type ---normal backup is probably ok
start/end time set via calendar button
other button is history---shows backups on system

in main window mark the files etc to restore

lower rhs preview button shows tapes required
restore button will start restore.

task tab will show progress

Hope this is helpful
regards doug
