Hi,

Im planning to add messaging split xx ext xxxx as part of my vector steps. How does it works? Is the extension is for single user or mailbox? split xx would be my hunt group 99 right?

Thanks for your help.

split xx is the hount group number not extension for your mailbox system. for ext xxxx use for example the login id from the agent or a station, type active for the mailbox of your vdn. but it works only if you use the vector for one vdn.

Hi callmaster,

I appreciate your reply but I cant get that point well. This is what I want to happen, I have main VDN pointing to my main trunk and I want to add a step that callers can drop voicemail message in the person that they are trying to call to. How will that step helps?

Thanks

that steps help only for a vnd mailbox or a exclusive mailbox from an agent or station, but a caller can´t select a mailbox from different extensions. there is no way to fix this problem with a vdn and vector.

Sounds like you need to create a 'Direct to Voicemail' step that points to either a Caller-App in MM or an Automated Attendant in Intuity Audix for example...

Sample:

07 collect 1 digits after announcement 1234 for none
08 goto step 13 if digits = 1
09 goto step 15 if digits = 2
10 goto step 16 if digits = 0
11 goto step 17 if digits = 9
12 goto step 18 if digits = #
13 goto step 18 if unconditionally

Announcement 1234 Thanks for calling company xyz, press 1 if you know your parties extension, etc...
Step 13 is a collect x digits step (to ring phone)
Step 15 is a name lookup step (rings into voicemail directory)
Step 16 is rings the operator
Step 17 is a "if you want to leave a message for someone" step (that rings into a Caller-App or AA for example)
Step 18 rings to generic Auto Attendant...

Thanks,
