I have a device with static IP address that resides on one subnet and needs to get through another subnet that uses Raptor Firewall. I understand that IP translation should work, but since I am not the networking guru I need some help in understanding how this works. Please post if you can help!

You need to build a route to the firewall and another to get pass the firewall. Jeter@LasVegas.com

Basically, NAT (Network Address Translation) functions by hiding the IP address of a source host behind another IP address. This has the effect of making the source address appear to be that of the NATter and not the true origianl.

This is usually done for security reasons or if you are using RFC1918 Internet non-routable IP blocks on your internal network. There are a number of ways to set this up and a search on Google might yield some usefull info.

Thanks for the tips. I was headed in the right direction, but you clarified things for me. Thanks Again!
