I have 3 phones ringing on incoming calls, when no answer caller leaves voicemail on mailbox 301

how do i change it so the caller can hit extenstion 101 and get transferred there?

i thought it would just do this, maybe im confused

You have confused me,the name of your post and content don't ask the same thing. What exactly do you want to happen?

sorry

ok the goal is

when a caller is listening to the mailbox at extension 301
they can hit 101 and get transferred to 101 or 102 etc...

You cant do that, they can hit *0 or *1 or *2 and it goes to whatever you programme under the users voicemail settings in the breakout boxes. So if you ring 102 and hit *0 it will ring the extension you set in 102's Reception/Breakout box.

You could set up an auto attendant and have the breakout dial a shortcode which takes them to that attendant, in there programme it to transfer to whatever extn they enter.

Ok maybe I set the whole thing up wrong

Looks like there are only 3 breakouts

hmm

So whats a normal setup for wanting this behavior?

We don't want an automated receptionist.

We do want the caller to be able to leave a generic message.

We do want the caller to be able to transfer to someones voicmail box.

I setup a huntgroup (which rings 3 extensions) and is mailbox 301.

Buying Voicemail Pro, you can only breakout from a users mailbox not a groups. If it rang at a users voicemail you could breakout too an attendant which you record and asks them to enter the extn number.

crap

we have embedded voicemail so we cant do this?

You can do it in a roundabout way, You set an overflow group with a virtual/phantom user in forwarded to a shortcode that takes you to the Attendant which they can dial from to transfer them to ashortcode that puts the message in that users mailbox or to the groups mailbox.
