Hi all,

does anybody know a good way of coding for a search while typing can it be done on the after update comand or is there a better way

e.g.

searching nick, nigel, nathan

n needs to bring up list of all names begining with n nick and nigel and nathan
ni brings up nick and nigel
nic brings up nick etc

A combo with AutoExpand set to True ?
A search initiated in the Change event procedure ?

Hope This Helps, PH.

PHV's first suggestion is the most valid one. I've seen the second suggestion proposed, but always with the caveat that it's very processor intensive; the search has to be repeated, in a non-native way, if you will, after each keystroke.

You wouldn't happen to have a code example of how its is used would you phv?

Never mind got it working now thanks everyone for your help its greatly appreciated
