Hello,

My company is using an Avaya Definity system G3 and I would like to know how I can program permanently the "call-fwd" button on a 6408D+ phone so that when someone just hits the "call-fwd" button, it will automatically forward to the extension programmed. Right now, someone has to manually hit the call-fwd button, then the extension in order for incoming calls to be forwarded to the extension entered manually. I just want to be able to hit the call-fwd button and it will forward all incoming calls. Hope this makes sense.

Thank you.

It may be best to remove the number from the set and give the set another number. Build the set back up as a x ported number with no hardware attatched. Then you can add a call forward button to your phone or just hit the access codes.

Unfortunately, this is an Executive's phone and I don't want to do anything that will interfere with his phone. Yes, an Executive that can't hit the call-forward button and hit 4 more numbers to forward all his calls to an ext. The forwarded ext. is his assistant's. Talk about lazy. He wants a button on his phone that when he hits it, it will forward all calls to his assistant.

Easy enough . Create a coverage path and have his assistant as the first point of coverage. He hits SAC or the send all calls button when he leaves and she get all his calls. She can also transfer them back into his voicemail without having to ring his phone with the transfer to voicemail feature access codes. If he want her to screen his call, it can be done the same way but she tranfers the calls back to him using the priority calling.

You need two vacant soft buttons in the display for this. Button one, you would program the call-forward feature code plus the extension being forwarded to, the second button would be the cancel code for forwarding.
This will take care of your requirements.
Put a program button in the display also, that will make it easy for you.
