Trying to determine wether or not my DSL line is activated at home. Earthlink says it is,but I can't connect. They have not sent me there adsl modem yet (2weeks) so I'm trying to use a verizon subscribers adsl modem (unsuccessfully) in the mean time.Really need to see with my own eyes that I do have dsl pumping into house but I don't know how to test it.(?) Any suggestions on the matter would be well appreciated! Thanks.

You could try DSLreports.com. They have many tests available there

Tryed that site to no avail, fortunately I was able to pinpoint my problem in my internal phone wiring.

Thanks Unhygienix.

Well first of all does the modem you have sink up? Is this to be a static or dynamic ip address? Have your provider come out and hook up a dsl tester. ( sunset ) and verify the provisioning. Jeter@LasVegas.com
