Hi,
I have a point-to-point T-1 going from switch 1 to switch 2. Both switches are Definity G3si Release 6 and have identical processors.
I understand that I have to add a tie trunk group to both, add a processor-interface data module, add a route pattern, change AAR somehow, HOP channels and possibly a netcon data module.

Does anyone have a configuration like this? If so, could you explain how you set it up?

The Two G3 are connected to each other by T1. The trunks on both sides must be the same. Channel 1 local to channel 1 remote etc. Trunk group must be set for DCS. You now need PDM's to pass the names data. Below is a example of a PDM from one switch to another:

DATA MODULE

Data Extension: 82992 Name: DCS Node 1
Type: x.25 Remote Loop-Around Test? n
Port: 01C0501 COR: 1 Destination Number: 18132973
Baud Rate: 9600 TN: 1 Establish Connection? y
Endpoint Type: adjunct DTE/DCE: dte Connected Data Module:
Link: 4 Enable Link? n Error Logging? n

Permanent Virtual Circuit? y Highest PVC Logical Channel: 64
Switched Virtual Circuit? n

Notice the destination Number This is the twin data module on the other end. The 181 is the TAC code of the DCS trunk group and the 32972 is the extension of it's data module mate on the other end.

I think that is all you need if not it's a start. It's been awile since I used this.

Hope this helps

1a2 to ip I seen it all

Thanks for the reply.

I have identical tie trunks set up on both ends. However, I'm using a G3si and the x.25 value in the data module type field is not valid in this switch. However, I can set up PI links to do the same thing. I also have to set up an administered connection to find the remote destination number.

LOL, doesn't anyone set up DCS networks anymore?

Main switch (example)

-Put in members 1 thru 22(NO MORE)

trunk group 2
-Group type:tie
-TAC:205
-Comm Type:data
-Trunk Type:wink/wink
-put in channel 23 (ONLY CH 23)single member
