I would like to be able to change our system greeting. Whenever someone dials our 800 number they get a recording. I want to change that recording. Any help would be appreciated.

Well does the number go to a vector or auto attn in the voice mail. Do you know (if a vector) the DNIS number or the VDN it hits, or do you know the Announcment number? Wisdom is Knowledge

Phoneman2.

Let me know what commands to issue to find out. I got thrown into this job. I am still trying to learn everything. Thank you very much.

list vdn
list vector
list ann
try some of these and see if any of them say 'main 800',main greeting, or something like that Wisdom is Knowledge

Phoneman,

All of them turned up invalid entries. We are still on Definity Version 6.0. Thanks again for your help.

What level of pass word do you have? can you change stations in the switch? Wisdom is Knowledge

I am the administrator on the box now. I can change everything from COS and COR to dialplans and stations. You name it, I have rights to it. Thanks.

OK then we need to look in the voice mail system. Does the annoucment say Thank You for calling (your company name) or is it a system canned meassage? If you have no announcments in the G3 then I would think it going to the VM system. Can you get into that system? Try "li ext" Wisdom is Knowledge

It is a custom message. Thank you for calling etc. press 1 for cust serv. press 2 for a directory listing by name.
That sort of thing. I know my way around Definity ok. Voicemail systems is a nother story. Any help would be appreciated. We use intuity audix. I am admin on that as well.

Well from what you just said you have vectors setup and are using ann. So when you do a list vector you don't get a list of all your vectors? or list vdn or list ann . Wisdom is Knowledge

The greeting could be an auto attendant in the voicemail system. Login to the voicemail system and enter the command “list attendants”. If there are any auto attendants, they will be listed here. Call each of these extensions to see if you hear your greeting. If you find your greeting there, you can re-record it by logging into that mailbox.

do a list attendants in the audix administration page, hopefully someone named it something like main auto attendant or similar, then do a change subscriber xxxx input a password in that field (you move around using your tab key, and this field is blank on purpose)and press F3 to save, next dial your audix and put in the auto attendants mailbox # and the new password you put in before press 3 for greetings and follow the voices instructions

Thanks everyone for your help. List Attend showed me what I needed to see. We got it taken care of. THANKS!!!
