Hi

Can anyone tell me how to change the ringer type on a m3880 model phone ?

The Meridian 1 system provides four different ringing cadences which may be assigned to digital sets. The four can best be described in terms of frequency (pitch) and rate of change as follows:-

DRG Pitch and Rate of change

1 High and Fast

2 High and Slow

3 Low and Fast

4 Low and Slow

Note :

The distinctive ringing groups 3/4 are different for M2006 and M2008.

The Meridian 1 system can also be programmed to ring extensions differently for internal and external calls. This is set up by BT personnel and is set on a system wide basis.

The Class of Service is set to identify which of the 4 ringing cadences should be applied to the TN.

Example

This example shows how DRG3 has been assigned to digital TN

Load Program 11.

Thanks for your help , however i have changed the DRG* but they all still sound the same , any thing else i can try ?

you might see a change after an ini but that is strange, go to laod 56 and print the mcad tables to see if they have been all made to match.. that is where drg1 2 3 and 4 are built as the tones in the above post, is someone made them all match then you can't change them without changing the table. changes in that table will not take effect until after a cont download in the larger switch, (run midnights) not sure of the update procedures in the 11's.. this is a nice load, make a mistate and you can have ringing that drives people crazy.. the 4 min on and 1 sec off can be scary... just to let you know to use care..

How can you make the system wide change to implement a distinctive ring for external calls? I don't need to create a custom ring, just use one of the built in 4.

Thanks
