I want to add some light sabers to a video, similar to those in Star Wars. How could I do it besides using the bea plugin and editing it frame by frame?

The only way I have seen it done is with the lightning effect (no branches). I don't know if you could use the motion tracker or not.
The orginal video was shot with two white colored sticks. The lightning effect was then added. Though not every frame was a key frame, many of them are.
I don't have your solution, Sorry.

I used the beam effect to make the light sabers. it isn't a plugin, but it comes with after efects. You do have to set a lot of keyframs, but it is pretty easy and looks realy cool! It's probubly not what you really wanted, but it works for me!!!

good luck

Check out the After Effects FreeMart
There are a couple of different tutorials on creating the lightsaber effect. I think one may even have a project you can download.

What i want to do is to "apply" a layer
to a path, so the layer will move without the need of make its path at the moment. AE's HELP did not help me . Do you know if that operation is possible? Thanks.
